Postal Rates for parcels to "other countries"
Many years ago I bought a few parcel forms addressed to the Nederlands, Norway and Sweden. I was unable to ascertain the correct postal rate. The only rate I could find was the rate from Faroe Islands to Denmark.
During a visit to The Faroes I asked a postal employee about this, and his answer was that they simply used the Danish rate for "other countries". However, when sending a parcel from Faroe Islands to Sweden by air you must add the air surcharge
The correct rate from 1 July 1976 was -
the Danish rate Denmark - Sweden by air plus the air surcharge from Faroe Islands to Denmark.
The air surcharge between the Faroe Islands and Denmark was-
1 April 1976 to 31 October 1977 - DKK 3.50
1 November 1977 to 4 April 1982 - DKK 4.00
I came across a few parcel forms where the Post Office had forgotten the air surcharge between the Faroe Islands and Denmark.
